Jan. 6 recap: Delbarton ties, Mountain Lakes-Boonton remains undefeated

Delbarton 1, Gloucester Catholic 1

Jason Strollo's second period goal helped Delbarton earn a 1-1 tie with Gloucester Catholic at Hollydell Ice Arena in Sewell.

Delbarton (3-4-1) gave up a goal in the first period, before Jack Benitez found Strollo for the game-tying goal. Brett Cleaves made 28 saves for the Green Wave.

Delbarton will travel to face Princeton Day on Thursday, before resuming Gordon Conference play on Jan. 13 when it faces Seton Hall Prep.

Mountain Lakes-Boonton 2, Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown 0

Mountain Lakes-Boonton strengthened its hold on first place in the Haas Division with a 2-0 win over Mount Olive-Hopatcong-Hackettstown at Mennen Arena.

Griffin O'Shaughnessy and Cameron Egan each scored for Mountain Lakes-Boonton, which improved to 9-0-1 this season with an 8-0-1 record in the division. Ben Polizzi recorded the shutout.


Morristown-Beard 8, Princeton 0

Lilli Warnock scored twice and had two assists to propel Morristown-Beard to a dominant 8-0 win over Princeton in Princeton.

Logan Sutera scored twice, while Anna Bajak and Abigail Russell each had a goal and an assist for Morristown-Beard (5-1-1). Faith Facchini added a goal and Alexa Degan chipped in with a goal and two assists. Sasha Berniker stopped all five shots she faced to earn the shutout.
